Susan Kutner, MD

Dr. Kutner has worked tirelessly to improve the quality of breast care for our members, and to demonstrate to those outside of our organization how Kaiser Permanente’s integrated health care system provides the highest quality care for women with breast cancer.

In addition to working on numerous programs at San Jose, she has served as Chair of the Northern California Breast Care Task Force since 1995.

With her leadership they expanded the Breast Cancer Tracking system, developed and implemented guidelines for screening and genetic counseling, introduced breast care coordinators, and improved access to new technologies and clinical trials.

In keeping with her commitment to partnering with breast cancer advocacy groups, she climbed Japan’s Mt. Fuji with survivors, in an event sponsored by the Breast Cancer Fund in August 2000.
