“I like guiding our department in a direction that will support our physicians and staff, so they can provide the best possible care for our patients,” says Dr. Gordon Isakson with a smile. That’s exactly what he’s been doing since 1994, and why he said “yes” to a leadership role in the first place.

From day one, Dr. Isakson has worked to transform the department to include a more patient-centered culture. He’s done it by recruiting an exceptional team of physicians who, in his words, “have a passion for pediatrics and love taking care of kids.” He hired subspecialists in neonatology, infectious diseases and developmental pediatrics to continually expand the department’s expertise.
