For more than 20 years, Richard Campbell, MD, has served as a steadfast leader in vascular surgery, inspiring curiosity and creative thinking in both his peers and mentees. He has held multiple leadership roles during his tenure, including the Chief of Resource Management, and today, he is regarded as the regional expert in the evaluation and treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome. With his inquisitive perspective and unique talent for leadership coaching, he is a highly sought-after advisor, even with physicians outside surgical services.
As Assistant Physician-in-Chief of Surgical Services at KP Sacramento, Dr. Campbell has been instrumental in developing a strong partnership with Kaiser Foundation Hospital leaders. His expertise in the field of peri-operative and hospital operations supported the implementation of a daily management system, which led to improved operational performance and exceptional care delivery. He also provided pivotal guidance in capital planning for the Sacramento Railyard Hospital and well as visionary leadership in creating the Ambulatory Surgical Hub in Natomas.
