Louis Fehrenbacher, MD, is a strong believer in making cancer care a decision-making partnership between physician and patient.

As a result, one of the decisions he and his patients can make together is whether or not to participate in the award-winning Kaiser Permanente Oncology Clinical Trials (KPOCT) program that he leads.

Each year, more than 300 Northern California Kaiser Permanente patients with cancer enter KP clinical trials, enabling them to receive groundbreaking new treatments prior to FDA approval.

Over 100 TPMG physicians and more than 40 research personnel are involved in KPOCT studies or trials. Since its inception over 15 years ago, the program has administered 264 clinical trials, involving more than 3700 patients.
