William Durston, MD

William Durston, MD, is an activist. He’s an activist for his Emergency Department patients and clinicians, for affordable healthcare for all Americans, and for the environment.

A decorated Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam war, he became the assistant chief of the KP Sacramento emergency department and then chief at KP South Sacramento. He’s also been an associate residency director, and was the president of the Sacramento chapter of Physicians for Social Responsibility.

Dr. Durston has been recognized for his expertise and research on the role of ultrasound in the Emergency Department.

A multiple award-winning physician and researcher, he’s made two runs for the U.S. Congress, being narrowly defeated by only a few percentage points in 2008.
