Raji Ayyar, MD, is making a difference in her clinical work as well as through her association with the award-winning Kaiser Permanente Oncology Clinical Trials (KPOCT) program.

Each year, more than 300 Northern California Kaiser Permanente patients with cancer enter clinical trials through KPOCT, enabling them to receive groundbreaking new treatments prior to FDA approval.

Currently, there are over 1700 Kaiser Permanente patients, over 100 TPMG physicians, and more than 40 research personnel involved in KPOCT studies or trials. Since its inception over 15 years ago, the program has administered 264 clinical trials, involving more than 3700 patients.

In 2007, KPOCT received the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s Clinical Trials Award in recognition of its dedication to the advancement of cancer treatment.
